Home upkeep can be easy when it comes to cleaning. Keep a weekly routine and you won't have to do as much cleaning because it gets done often enough. Here's a simple and easy schedule to follow:
Monday- Bedroom
Start with the bedrooms on Monday. You won’t have to upkeep your guest room as much as the rooms people live in. Start by taking off the sheets, then do some furniture dusting, followed by vacuuming the carpet or the rug if there is no carpet. Throw the sheets in the washing machine and your Monday cleaning is good to go! Well. after the folding is done but that's what kids are for!
Tuesday- Bathroom
Start with the most tedious cleaning in the bathroom- the shower and toilet. However, if you keep up with your weekly schedule, then they won’t be that dirty! Then the rest of the bathroom cleaning will feel like a piece of cake; cleaning the counters and mirrors and then finishing off with the laundry: towels, wash cloths and rags.
Wednesday- Kitchen
Hump day is for kitchen cleaning! Clean out the refrigerator every Wednesday to avoid spoiled foods smelling up the whole house! If you stick to this schedule, cleaning out the fridge will be quick and painless. Check expiration dates and use a sharpy to mark them so you know when to toss stuff. Next, clean your appliances, wipe your counters and organize the pantry. Organizing the pantry is important so snacks and food don't get shoved in the back and go to waste. Finish with the laundry. Wednesday is the day for washing lights.
Thursday- Living and Dining
Thursday will be the day for lots of dusting because the living room usually has the most furniture. Dust and polish furniture and picture frames. Then fluff your pillows and couch cushions. Do a quick vacuum and then finish by throwing in a load of darks.
Friday- Fundamentals
Who wants to do heavy cleaning on Friday? Not me! Friday calls for a simple vacuuming and mopping, then cleaning the mirrors and windows.
Saturday- Outside
Saturday calls for taking out the trash, cleaning out your car and hosing down the garage (if you have one).
Sunday – Beloved day of rest!!
Sunday is for eating ice cream and not even thinking about cleaning!
